Pet supplies, compared properly.
RatedPets is an independent comparison site. We do not sell pet products. We compare them — by size, support, washability and durability — so you can pick the right bed, crate or toy the first time, not the third time.
Launch category: Dog Beds. More pet categories will be added one cluster at a time.
Our top pick, at a glance
Best overall: Orthopedic memory-foam bolster bed
For most dogs, especially large and older dogs, a thick memory-foam base with a bolster edge is the safest first pick: it supports joints, gives a place to rest the head, and lasts longer than a thin filled bed. It costs more than a basic bed and is heavier to wash — but a bed your dog actually sleeps on every night is worth more than a cheap bed they ignore.

How we decide
Every guide on this site is built around the same four questions. If a product fails one of them, we say so plainly.
1. Size and fit
Can your dog stretch out fully? A bed that looks big in a photo can still be too small for a Labrador. We match size to the dog, not just to the breed label.
2. Support
Does the base stay supportive, or does it flatten in a month? Puppies, seniors and arthritic dogs need very different support.
3. Washability
Can the cover — and ideally the whole bed — go in the washing machine? A bed that cannot be cleaned will smell, no matter how good it looks on day one.
4. Durability
Will it survive chewing, digging and daily washing? A chew-proof claim means nothing if the zip fails in week two.

Why dog beds first? Because it is the clearest test of good buying advice: a simple product, a lot of confident opinions, and a real difference between a bed your dog sleeps on every night and a bed that sits unused in a corner.

Why the right bed matters, in plain terms
Dogs sleep 12 to 14 hours a day, and older dogs even more. A bad bed is not just uncomfortable — it can make stiff joints worse and end up as an expensive mistake you replace twice. The three checks that prevent most bad buys are simple: measure your dog stretched out, check that the base is thick enough for their weight, and check that you can actually wash it. Those three checks alone will save most buyers from a return.
Frequently asked questions
Is RatedPets a shop?
No. We do not hold stock, ship orders, or take payments. When affiliate links are added after an affiliate application is approved, they will take you to the retailer to buy, and they will be clearly disclosed.
Why are there no prices on the guides yet?
Prices change at the retailer. At launch we use price bands ($, $$, $$$) instead of a price seen on one day, so a guide does not go out of date the week after it is published.
How often will new guides appear?
Staggered, on publish dates set in advance — about two guides a week in the launch cluster, not all at once.
